Dwyle flunking at The Lewes Arms

Here are my photos from today’s sweaty dwyle flunking match at The Lewes Arms. Dwyle flunking is an old English pub sport for which two teams dressed in country garb take turns to fling a sodding wet beer towel off the end of a pole at their opponents who are circling them. A strike on the head, body or leg scores points while a miss or a shot at the audience incurs a boozy forfeit. A couple of years ago I demonstrated dwyle flunking on telly for a quiz show hosted by Al Murray. Impressive, I know.

I heard about it, but haven’t seen it ever! So Lewes.

p.s. That’s my mate Iain in the middle of the circle in the top picture. Again, so Lewes that I would recognise at least one person! Kx
